House Hunters International has featured Costa Rica a few times, most recently, on October 16th. On that date, they introduced us to Horizon Pacific Vacations. The episode followed an American freelance photographer, Katie, on her journey to find a place to live in this beautiful country.

While photographing a wedding in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, Katie met Jeff. Falling in love with him was a primary factor for her decision to move to Costa Rica. This drastic life change had some challenges. Katie had to give up a job she enjoyed in Aspen, Colorado, to focus on her photography career.

The first thing she needed was to find an affordable place to live, in order to survive until her business grows. She wants to be close to the town, while Jeff prefers to be on the beach, to be able to surf at any time. Their different opinions and tight budget are part of the process.

Horizon Pacific Management & Rentals offers property management, vacation and long-term rentals, and concierge service. They helped Katie and Jeff find a few options, and at the end of the episode we found out which they chose. They were happy to have this trustworthy company walk them through the process.

House Hunters International is a spinoff of HGTV House Hunters. Both are featured on the Home & Garden Television network in the United States. They are also featured on the HGTV.com website, where you can get tips on cooking, DIY, and traveling. The show condenses the emotion, beauty, and challenges of buying real estate in a foreign country into one episode. We get to learn about the history of places around the world, see various types of architecture, and feel as if we are along for the journey of moving abroad.
